Kelechi Agbakwuru joined the Washington Lawyers’ Committee in March of 2022 as Housing Counsel. Prior to joining WLC, Kelechi offered direct representation to tenants facing eviction. As Housing Counsel, Kelechi will focus on representing organizing tenants in emerging law and working to promote racially equitable affordable housing in the District.
Kelechi graduated from the University of the District of Columbia’s David A. Clarke School of Law. Prior to law school, Kelechi worked as a community organizer in Brooklyn, NY and a union organizer in San Diego, CA. When not working, Kelechi enjoys gardening and watching sports.
