Ayesha Ahsan joined the Washington Lawyers’ Committee’s Prisoners’ Rights practice in September 2024 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP. Ayesha graduated from Boston College Law School in May 2024. While in law school, Ayesha was a member and co-chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of the Boston College Law Review and co-president of the South Asian Law Students Association. Ayesha worked as a legal intern at the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Washington Lawyers’ Committee. She also participated in Boston College Law School’s Civil Rights Clinic, where she represented individuals in a prisoners’ rights class action lawsuit against the Massachusetts Department of Corrections and wrote a report on workers’ rights issues impacting domestic workers in Boston.
