Ellie Driscoll (she/her) joined the Washington Lawyers’ Committee in September 2023 as a Meselson-Liman Fellow. She focuses on litigation and advocacy to advance the rights of youth with disabilities who are drawn into the District’s criminal legal system.
Prior to joining the Committee, Ellie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Catharine F. Easterly on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She has also worked as a legal intern for various nonprofits and public defender and legal services organizations, including the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, where she participated in class-action litigation and assisted clients seeking post-conviction relief, Yale’s Challenging Mass Incarceration Clinic, where she defended a client against criminal charges and revocation of supervised release, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, where she worked on issues involving voting rights and discriminatory school discipline, and the New Haven Legal Assistance Association, where she represented clients seeking asylum and other forms of immigration relief.
