Leslie Faith Jones (she/her) is the Supervising Counsel for the Prisoners’ Rights team, which uses targeted litigation and advocacy to reduce harm and create systemic change by enforcing the civil rights and civil liberties of people incarcerated in the DC Department of Corrections (DOC) and the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
Prior to joining the Committee, she led litigation protecting the constitutional rights of adults and youth in detention centers, county jails, and state prisons at Prisoners’ Legal Services of New York, the Montgomery County Office of the Public Defender (Pennsylvania), and the Southern Poverty Law Center (Alabama, Florida, Mississippi) by promoting economic justice, educational access, medical and mental health care, and voting rights. Leslie Faith is a 2022 Ambassador for Racial Justice with the Gault Center and Georgetown Law School’s Juvenile Justice Initiative. She currently serves as faculty and co-chair of the Justice Consortium for SAMHSA’s National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
