The DC Fiscal Policy Institute, the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia and the Washington Lawyers’ Committee submitted comments strongly opposing the Trump Administration’s adoption of the chained CPI poverty measure. Chained CPI is an inaccurate measure of low-income households’ spending patterns and its adoption would reduce access to vital supports.
