Give a gift in memory of Lewis S. Wiener.
Our beloved friend Lewis S. Wiener passed away on April 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of immense contribution to disability rights. Lew was a warrior for justice whose compassion animated his generous spirit. He devoted nearly 20 years of service to the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs (“WLC”), serving as Board Co-Chair from 2013 to 2015, as a Board member from 2004 to 2023, and litigating numerous disability rights pro bono matters.
To honor his extraordinary contributions, we are establishing the WLC Lewis S. Wiener Disability Rights Fellowship. This fellowship will support young lawyers who will devote their talents to advancing disability rights.
Thank you for your support in honoring Lew’s legacy and advancing the cause he so passionately championed. With gratefulness, and in loving memory and honor of Lew,
“Progress is not a solitary endeavor, but the result of countless individuals working together united by a common purpose… Let us continue to… strive for a future where justice prevails and where principles of equality and human rights are upheld for generations to come.” – Lew Wiener, 2023 Wiley A.
